RULES OF THE GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES 2020
Races of the GTWS are: Zegama, Mont-Blanc Marathon, Dolomyths Run, Sierre-Zinal, Pikes Peak Marathon and Ring of Steall.
The final will take place in Argentina, Patagonia on the K42 on November 7th, 2020.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH ATHLETE TO RESPECT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF EACH RACE.

Runners need to take part to at least 3 on 6 qualifying races (Zegama, Mont-Blanc Marathon, Dolomyths Run, Sierre-Zinal, Pikes Peak Marathon and Ring of Steall) and reach the top 11 to be invited to the final. The overall ranking will take in count the 3 best results of the runner + the result of the final.
If the runner didn’t reach the top 11 but participated to 3 of the 6 qualifying races, he/she could go on his own to the final in Argentina.
The Golden Trail World Series Champions will be the one with the maximum numbers of points with his/her best three results plus the final & – in case of a tie
1- the best place on one of the qualifying race of the GTWS
2- the second best place on one of the qualifying race of the GTWS
3- the third best place on one of the qualifying race of the GTWS
After the last race of the series, the Ring of Steall, an overall ranking will define a TOP 11 men and women. These top 11 men and women will be invited to participate in the Grand Final.
The points of the final will be different than the 6 qualifying races. For the final the runners will get the double. Here below:

2. CATEGORY
There is only one category scratch male and one female
3. PRIZES
The top 11 men and women after the 6 qualifying races will get his/her trip to the final fully covered transport+ accommodation for one week with the guest of their choice.
The top 5 overall after the final (3 best results on the 6 qualifying races + results of the final) will get 10 000€
From the 6th to the 10th after the final (3 best results on the 6 qualifying races + results of the final) will get 5 000€
The 11th will only get the trip covered
4. PHOTOS,TV,VIDEOS RIGHTS
Any competitor expressly waives the right to the image during the GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES 2020, as he renounces all recourse against the organizer and his authorized partners for the use made of his image.
5. CNIL
In accordance with the Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, you have the right to access and rectify your personal data. Through us, you may receive proposals from other companies or associations. If you do not wish it, you just have to write to us by indicating us your names, first name, complete address.
6. RUN FOR A CAUSE
In 2020 a donation will be made to an association to compensate our carbon footprint

ELITES SUPPORT RULES
In order to be transparent, please find below who we consider Elites for the Golden Trail World Series and the different level of support.
The runners who meet the requirement below will get support for transport and accommodation in the maximum defined further.
If the runner reaches top 10 of Zegama/Marathon du Mont-Blanc/Dolomyths/Sierre-Zinal he/she will get support for his/her next race if and only if he/she follows the entire series (3/6races)
For Zegama
– Top 10 GTWS 2019
– Top 10 of the ITRA ranking category S dated from the 01/01/2020. This top 10 doesn’t take in consideration the ones who were top 10 GTWS 2019. It means that 10+10 athletes will be invited (10 of the GTWS 2019 + 10 of the ITRA ranking cat S)
– Top 10 Zegama 2019
For Marathon du Mont-Blanc
– Top 10 GTWS 2019
– Top 10 of the ITRA ranking category S dated from the 01/01/2020. These top 10 don’t take in consideration the ones who were top 10 GTWS 2019. It means that 10+10 athletes will be invited (10 of the GTWS 2019 + 10 of the ITRA ranking cat S)

For Dolomyths run

SUPPORT
Transport:
Travelling from Europe to Europe: up to 300€*
Travelling from outside of Europe to Europe: up to 1000€*
Accommodation**:
Travelling from Europe to Europe: up to 300€*
Travelling from outside of Europe to Europe: up to 500€*
*Athlete must show all the invoices/receipts to claim the money. If the amount is under the maximum defined the athlete will receive the exact amount of his/her expenses. If it’s above the maximum defined the athlete won’t receive more than the maximum defined.
**For Zegama, Dolomyths Run, Sierre-Zinal and Ring of Steall the accommodation is organized by the race organization and therefore won’t be covered except if there is no more room.
