THE MADEIRA OCEAN TRAILS
The MADEIRA OCEAN TRAILS® GTWS Final is inspired by "Le Tour de France". It is a 5-day stage race organized by Madeira Oceans Trails.
There will be prizes distributed per stage (daily)
· Stage Winner
· Stage Best climber
· Stage Best downhiller
· Stage Best sprinter
And at the end of the 5 days, an overall ranking will be established, and the Golden Trail World Series winners, male and female, will be the ones with the biggest number of points from the best 3 results of the GTC races + the mandatory finale stage race in Madeira. The points will be given each stage, not on the overall ranking. 100 points for each stage winners. 50 points for the Time Trial winners. 450 points will be given to the winners during the 5 days.
The male and female Golden Trail Climber Champions, the male and female Golden Trail Downhiller Champions, and the male and female Golden Trail Sprinter Champions will be the ones with the lowest cumulated time of the different stage race sections.
The top 30 from the overall ranking after the 6 races* will be considered international elites. They will be fully invited to the GTWS Stage race in Madeira**
THE INTERNATIONAL ELITES WILL COMPETE IN THE ELITE CATEGORY
The top 3 M&W from each GTNS* will be the representative for each GTNS Team. They will be fully invited to the Stage race in Madeira**
THE GTNS TEAMS WILL COMPETE IN THE OPEN AND GTNS TEAM CATEGORIES
THE OPEN CATEGORY WILL BE OPEN TO ALL (INDIVIDUAL RANKING) EXCEPT THE INTERNATIONAL ELITES.
* If an international elite is in the top 3 of a GTNS, the invitation will be for the following athlete.
** Within the budget's limit specified in the rules (€600/€1,500 max)
