RULES & BONUS
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH ATHLETE TO RESPECT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF EACH RACE.
RANKING POINTS BREAKDOWN – 1st TO 30th :
Runners need to take part to 3 on 5 races to be qualified for the big finale. After the last race of the series, the Ring of Steall, an overall ranking will define the TOP 10 men and women. These top 10 men and women will be invited to participate in the Grand Final where the male and female Golden Trail champions will be decided.
THE GOLDEN TRAIL CHAMPION WILL BE THE ONE WITH THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF POINTS FROM THE BEST THREE RESULTS FROM FIVE FOLLOWED BY THE GRAND FINAL & – IN THE CASE OF A TIE – THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF VICTORIES FROM THE SIX RACES WILL DECIDE THE WINNER.
Each individual race prize money will only be rewarded after the result of the anti doping control.
In addition to the overall ranking bonus, each race in the series will have the following prize money from the race organisers:
1st: €1000 2nd: €1000 3rd: €1000 4th: €1000 5th: €1000
To be eligible for their €5000 overall ranking bonus, each runner MUST accept the invitation to the Grand Final.
RUN FOR A CAUSE:
Each of the top 10 final athletes will be able to compete in the Grand Final race for an environemental cause they choose to support. This allows each athlete to have a voice in the trail running community. For the five qualifying races, the competition will be intense and at the highest level as the athletes compete for a top-10 spot. The Grand Final to be different, giving the athletes a chance to support a cause that means something to them.
