ELITES ATHLETES' ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The top 10 men and women from the Golden Trail World Series 2021 overall ranking:

- are invited to participate in two 2022 international trips: one in Europe (Stranda/Zinal), and one in the USA (Manitou Spring/Flagstaff). Under the condition they pre-register to a minimum of 3 races in the GTWS 2022. These 2 trips are designed to limit the ecological impact of multiple transcontinental trips. This enables Europeans to participate in 2 competitions in the USA in one single trip; by doing 2 races in 2 weeks, and vice-versa for Americans who want to race in Europe. Also, the athletes and staff’s travel carbon footprint will be offset by the GTS.

- will receive free race bibs to all the GTWS 2022 races.

FOR ALL THE RACES

Additionally, if they pre-register to a minimum of 3 GTWS 2022 races, the GTS will cover the athletes’ following invitations: FOR ALL THE RACES (If the athlete is not part of the top 10 GTWS 2021 overall ranking):

– An athlete who finishes in the top 10 in a GTWS race, or who’s in the Top 10 overall ranking, is invited to another race in the Series.

– An athlete who finishes in the top 20 in a GTWS race receives a free race bib for another race in the Series.

FOR ZEGAMA and THE MARATHON DU MONT-BLANC

– The decision was made with the top 15 M&W from the GTWS 2021 overall ranking that only free race bibs will be provided, no other expenses will be covered (the top 20 of the GTWS 2021 overall ranking will receive free race bibs).

FOR PIKES PEAK ASCENT

– the athlete must have run one previous race in the Series.

FOR FLAGSTAFF SKT PEAKS

– the runner must have run 2 previous races in the Series.

FOR THE GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES GRAND FINAL IN MADEIRA

– The top 30 from the Golden Trail World Series 2022 overall ranking after 6 races (3 best results out of 6) will be considered as INTERNATIONAL ELITE athletes. They will be invited to take part in the GTWS Grand Final in Madeira in the INTERNATIONAL ELITE CATEGORY. The INTERNATIONAL ELITE athletes will receive free race bibs for all the GTWS 2023 races, if they pre-register to a minimum 3 GTWS 2023 races.

– Athletes finishing after the 30th position will be able to compete in the GTWS Grand Final in Madeira in the OPEN CATEGORY.

– The Top 3 athletes from each GTNS will be considered as NATIONAL ELITE athletes. They will be invited to take part in the GTWS Madeira Grand Final in the OPEN CATEGORY for the individual ranking and will defend their GTNS flag by competing as a TEAM for the GTNS RANKING (Cf. GTWS Grand Final rules).
