The top 30 men and women from the Golden Trail World Series 2024 overall ranking will receive free race bibs to all the GTWS 2025 races.
The top 20 man and women are invited to participate in 4 races of the GTWS 2025, under the condition they pre-register/compete on a minimum of 3 races in the GTWS 2025.

– After the 8 races, all the athletes that rank in the top 30 on points at the end, will receive financial support from the GTWS (travel, accommodation & meals) to participate in the Grand Final.
=> Attention, to be in the final general classification of the GTWS 2025, the Grand Final is mandatory.
– All other athletes with GTWS points who wish to participate in the final are welcome. They will be able to continue to score points hoping to become Golden Trail World Elite Athletes by finishing in the Top 30 of the final general classification or to be ranked in our OPEN category.
All our races are open to all including the final.
– In parallel of this final, we will have an OPEN race with Golden Tickets to be won by the Top3 M&W for the 2026 Golden Trail World Series. If you wish to participate in the competition while you are not selected by the GTWS, you will be part of the OPEN classification of the race. If you are ranked in the Top30 overall ranking after the race, you will be part of the Elites of the GTWS 2026.
– Runners in the Top 30 of the 2025 Final General Classification will be considered Golden Trail World Elites and will get a free bib for the races of their choice in the GTWS 2026.

The TOP 20 of the GTWS 2024 is invited to 4 races in the Series with the following support:
– TOP10 of the GTWS 2024: 600€ by race.
– From 11th to 20th of the GTWS 2024: 300€ by race.
ACCOMMODATION
– Most of the accommodations will be taken in charge. We will update you along the year.
NOTE: Accommodations are booked for 2 athletes by room.
=> If you want to come accompanied, the companion will have to pay half the price of the room + the meals
If transfers are planned, once you arrive at the meeting point for each trip, transfer to the hotel will be provided if you arrive on the date and time requested by the GTWS organizers.

Rules
Races of the GTWS are: Kobe Trail, Jinshanling Great Wall Trail Race, Il Golfo Dell Isola Trail, Zegama-Aizkorri, Broken Arrow Skyrace, Tepec Trail, Salomon Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail, Sierre-Zinal.
The final will take place, as a prologue + a race from the 9th to the 12th of October 2025.
Everyone can participate in the GTWS within the limit of race bibs available and at his/her personal expense.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH ATHLETE TO RESPECT THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF EACH RACE.

Access to the final
After the 8 races, the Top 30 athletes* will be supported by the GTWS (Travel, accommodation, food) to participate in the Grand Final.
(*The runners will be ranked considering the number of points from the best 3 results out of 8.)
=> Attention, to be in the final general classification of the GTWS 2025, the Grand Final is mandatory.
– The final will start with a time trial two days before the final race with 100 points awarded to the winners. The first 30 of the general GTWS classification after the prologue will be placed on the first lines of the start of the big final race which will award 300 points to the winners.
– During the final, half of the GTWS classic ranking points will be given during the prologue (100 points) & 300 points during the final race. So, 400 points in total for the winners.
The event of a tie
In the event of a tie, we will apply the following rules to rank the runners:
- The best place on one of the GTWS races.
- The second-best place on one of the GTWS races.
- The third best place on one of the GTWS races.
- If the athlete beat his/her direct competitor on the GTWS.
The GOLDEN TRAIL WORLD SERIES WINNER is the one with the maximum number of points from the best 3 results out of 8 followed by the mandatory grand finale.
Injuries
In the event of injury and inability to compete before the competition, the runner who would have won his ticket for the GTWS Grand Final will not receive any compensation, he/she will lose the ticket and will not receive travel expenses.
